Life is good

I seriously think I start every post with "I know I haven't posted in a while, but ..." so I won't do it this time, but you get the idea. At least I have a good excuse this time - or 3 of them! Not a lot new around here, other than Callie of course, but I thought I'd give you all a quick update and post some pics.

J is busy busy busy with the business, today he's putting in about 12 hours, but all his hard work is definitely paying off - he's signed up a couple new clients, and is still in the process of hiring another new trainer. We've been having tons of fun sending out letters to 2000 clients in the area - hand addressing every one. It's actually some decent quality time together - we do it together most nights, so I'm not complaining. My back is though - I had to go to urgent care last Friday because I couldn't stand up straight - I had one hip jutted out about 2 inches further than it should have been! It turns out I had a muscle in my back that was in a constant spasm - like a crick in your neck only worse. They gave me some fantastic pain killers and muscle relaxers, so it's all good now. =) I start back to work on Monday, working 4 days a week. I'm looking forward to the time with adults, but not so much being away from the family every night.

Callie is doing wonderful - sleeping through the night about half the time, and only getting up once the rest of the time. I know they say babies aren't supposed to smile until at least 6 weeks, but I think she is already. I know you are all thinking "oh, it's just gas" but if that's the case, she only gets gas when I talk to her or Papa plays peek-a-boo. (No mean comments!)

Lexi is a fabulous big sister - every time she sees Callie awake she tells me "Mommy, she likes me!" It's very cute. She's been busy with play dates lately - we get together with a co-worker and her 4 year old son once a week, but we definitely have to keep a close eye on them. Last week Amy and I were talking and listening to the kids through the monitor, and heard the kids playing night-night. Next thing we know, Ty says "You have to take your underwear off too, Lexi" - and off we go! We found the kids in his room, in separate beds, stripped down to their underwear! Funny sight, but both kids have gotten numerous talkings-to about needing jammies if they are going to take their clothes off to sleep, and we don't do that during play time!

Mason is still doing speech therapy, and is really starting to make progress. He's still hard to understand, but he's starting using some consonants on his own. He's still loud as can be though - apparently if he talks louder we'll be able to understand him. =) He's turning into quite the pain lately ... he definitely understands that if I'm feeding Callie, I can't get up to spank him quite as fast, and he tests this about every day! He's also figured out how to unlatch the gate and thinks he has free reign of the house. I've learned that if he starts yelling "Owie Owie, no spankin no spankin" when I can't see him, he deserves one when I find him! =)

In case you can't tell, these are all newborn pics of the kids - see any resemblance? =)
